Rise in prices of food, transport fares

The transport fare for the route used to be 175 rupees during normal times.

Public vehicles are nowhere to been seen at the district headquarters as majority of them have been travelling to other districts on reserve.
With the main markets shut, a rise in prices of essential food items has been witnessed with some businessmen engaging in black marketing.
Some reports say that tents worth 300-700 rupees are being sold at 1,500-2,500 rupees, while telecommunications services have been cut off in the absence of electricity, severely hampering rescue efforts.
