Vietnamese fishing trawler seized off Chon Buri

The Royal Thai Navy Region 1 Fleet officers seized a Vietnamese fishing trawler and arrested its five members for entering Thai waters without permission in Chon Buri province.
The Vietnamese trawler, which carried a Thai flag, was anchored while its five crewmembers were fishing when the navy officers spotted it 30 miles off Koh Chuang. A nearby fishing trawler with five Cambodian crewmembers, reportedly registered in a Thai woman’s name, was also checked and taken into custody for inspection. Both trawlers were towed to the mid-sea dock in Sattahip district and crewmembers were brought to the Sattahip police.
