Appeals Court acquits Juti in defamation case

The Appeals Court Thursday overturned the conviction ruling against former Democrat MP Juti Krairirk in a defamation case filed by Pranee Suebwonglee, the wife of former deputy prime minister Surapong Suebwonglee.
The Criminal Court earlier ruled that Juti had defamed Pranee during a no-confidence debate on May 28 2003. But the Appeals Court ruled that Juti’s statement did not constitute a defamation crime.
