The current penalty for these offences is seven years in jail and/or up to Bt140,000 in fines.
The committee tasked with examining the law also clarified the definition of child pornography to the NLA, which then passed the amendment 193:1, with two abstentions. This law is meant to be in accordance with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and will confront the supposed increase in the distribution of child pornography.
