Klongchan victims turn to CSD

A GROUP of advocates for victims of fraud in relation to the Klongchan Credit Union Coop-erative yesterday submitted a complaint with the police Crime Suppression Division (CSD) asking it to take the investigation over from the Department of Special Inves

CSD special adviser Pol Colonel Note Sawettalek said it was beyond the CSD’s authority to take over the investigation, but said the division would help coordinate with the DSI and convey the complaints.
Atchariya Ruengrattana-phong, chairman of the Assistance Group of Victims of Crimes, said a group of people affected by cheating at cooperatives or embezzlement of investments was seeking special assistance from the CSD. The group has called on the CSD to compile more evidence and find more suspects involved in the signing of cheques, forging documents and giving other assistance to wrongdoers.
Atchariya said the DSI was focusing too much on taking action against ex-Klongchan Cooperative chairman Supachai Supa-aksorn and the case had made little progress.
