“I think the investigation results should be available by June 15,” Deputy Prime Minister Yongyuth Yutthawong said yesterday.
The investigation panel is being chaired by the Commerce Ministry permanent secretary.
Currently, Narong has been assigned to work at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Yongyuth said the investigation results would determine whether Narong would finally return to work at the Public Health Ministry.
Narong was slapped with a transfer order in March at the height of his clash with the National Health Security Office (NHSO) over the universal healthcare scheme.
Public Health Minister Rajata Rajatanavin chairs the NHSO board.
Yongyuth, however, insisted that Narong’s probe was unrelated to the ongoing investigation into legal interpretations over the NHSO’s use of its fund.
This investigation was launched after a financial watchdog raised doubts about the NHSO fund management, which the NHSO says stems from different legal interpretations.
This month, the NHSO has already suspended some of its operations in the wake of budget-management doubts.
