Lottery vendor fined for overpricing

A lottery vendor in Nakhon Ratchasima's Phimai district was yesterday arrested for selling three lottery tickets at Bt90 each to a customer.

As Somboon Sahatsukmankhong, 71, confessed to selling the tickets at a higher price than the capped price of Bt80. Police halved the fine to Bt5,000 and released after giving him a warning. The country’s retail vendors are required to sell lottery tickets at Bt80 or face a maximum fine of Bt10,000 and/or up to one month in prison.
