NHSO allows universal healthcare to cover non-critical but emergency treatments

The National Health Security Office's board of directors has agreed to extend the free universal healthcare to cover non-critical but emergency medical treatments in all hospitals, Public Health Minister Doctor Ratchata Ratchatanawin said.

Those eligible for the free universal healthcare are normally required to receive treatments in the hospitals they have been registered to but if they encounter life-threatening emergency, they can seek treatment from any hospital. Now, the emergency cases do not have to be life-threatening ones, the minister said.
