Khunnawut Tantrakul said during site inspection Friday that the request is being processed but it remains unknown when the decision would be reached. He insisted that the extension would not lead to a change in the construction budget.
Sino-Thai is bounded by the contract to finish the construction on November 24, 2015.
Its project manager, Supachoke Orathai, said the construction has been delayed as the company could enter the site later than the schedule.
It was reported that the land of 20 more rai is not yet cleared for the construction.
Supachoke said that the foundation works should be completed in November 2015, while the building construction may start in mid-2016. He said the building construction could be quick as the company is ready to transfer about 5,000-6,000 workers to the site.
