Ten academics, who represent the network of the lecturers, turned up in front of the Bangkok Remand Prison at noon to read the first statement of the "Network of Lecturers who have concerns for the detained students".
The statement expressed the lecturers’ support for the students and demanded the authorities to release them immediately without any conditions.
The ten academics included Anusron Unno, Pongkwan Sawasdipak, and Prajak Kongkirati from Thammasat University.
The statement said the lecturers are committed to support students’ on-going peaceful fight for democracy. And they would work to spread the five principles which the activist students from New Democracy Movement are trying to push through, the statement said.
