The Cabinet on Tuesday approved a bill to use 911 as the only emergency number, Deputy Government Spokesman Maj Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd said.

The 911 number will replace all existing emergency numbers and the system will route the calls to relevant call centres. Sansern said the Cabinet was asked to select between 911 and 112 and the Cabinet resolved to use 911.
