Disciples of Phra Dhammachayo Tuesday rallied at the Government Complex on Chaeng Wattana Road to voice their objection to the Ombudsman's Office resolution to consider the abbot's status.
Insisting that there was no reason to revive a case that was ruled on several years ago, the 200-strong group said if the temple did not get justice, they would mobilise tens of thousands of disciples to protect the monk. Phra Dhammachayo is the abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakaya in Pathum Thani.
