Thailand awaits US trafficking report

Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha is confident that the junta's actions against human trafficking activities are tougher than in the past.
However, he said it remains to be seen whether this improvement would lead to an upgrade in the US's Trafficking in Persons report, which will be announced tonight.
Thailand is now ranked in the bottom of the report, Tier 3.
Asked if he expects an upgrade, he said there was no expectation.
The transition takes time, not on a single day, a month or a year. It involves the entire system, he said.
