Ex-McIntosh keyboardist dies

FORMER McIntosh keyboardist Attapon Prasertying died of a brain haemorrhage yesterday. He was 56.

The bathing rite is scheduled for today at Wat That Thong starting at 5pm.
It is another loss this week for the music industry, after Sqweez Animal guitarist Prachatip “Singha” Musigapong committed suicide.
Attapon, called “Oo McIntosh” by fans, was managing director of the music label Danze Planet, a subsidiary of GMM Grammy.
McIntosh was a popular string combo band in the 1980s. Its other members included drummer Wongsakorn “Ton” Rasmidathe, guitarists Sombat “Miew” Kajornchaiyakul and Kitiphan “Moo” Punkabutra, singer Sumet “Nid” Naksawad, bassist Marutha “Prince” Rattanasamphan, saxophonist Worathep “Peng” Luengsirapornchai, and trumpeter Somkiat “Nui” Chuansomboon.
The band was successful with albums and movies and Do Re Mi magazine named it the second-most-popular Thai band after Grand Ex. McIntosh’s 1983 albums “Wan Waan Yang Waan Yoo” and “Wan Nee Yang Mee Ther” were even made into movies.
