Daily allowance for soldiers in South hiked

Soldiers in southern border provinces will see their daily allowance hiked from Bt94 to Bt200 after the Cabinet approved the Bt277.5-million budget proposal yesterday.
The allowance hike, proposed by the Internal Security Operations Command, would be effective in retrospect from October 1, 2014. There are 5,881 soldiers in the restive region at present.
