Wife of missing Karen activist approaches DSI

The wife of missing Karen activist Porlajee "Billy" Rakchongcharoen yesterday filed a request for the Department of Special Investigation to take up her husband's mysterious disappearance on April 17 last year as a special case, as the police probe has

Pinnapa Preuksaphan, accompanied by Justice for Peace Foundation chairwoman Angkhana Nilapaichit, also asked to enter the witness protection programme after claiming she was warned that she too could disappear for pursuing her husband’s case.
Pol Major Woranan Srilum, director of the DSI’s special cases office, received Pinnapa’s letter. He said the DSI had preliminarily collected evidence for forensic tests but the results were not yet known. He said the Special Case Committee would be asked to consider taking up this case on the grounds of complications, its impact and the potential involvement of influential figures. Pinnapa’s suitability for witness protection would be checked.
