Top Chinese artists to paint in Thailand

SOME OF China's most famous and intrinsic painters will visit Thailand at the end of September to paint their respective perspectives of this country, co-organisers The Nation and China Daily announced in a joint statement.

The project is a unique celebration of the 40th anniversary of Thai-Chinese diplomatic relations and is another milestone in Asian arts, said Zhou Li, publisher and editor-in-chief of China Daily Asia-Pacific, and Pana Janviroj, president of The Nation. China Daily and The Nation are part of the Asia News Network.
The 10 artists will do as many as 80 paintings during their 10-day visit with exhibitions to be held in Bangkok on October 2-4 and later in China. The project is supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and Dusit International.
The artists are painters of classical, modern and post-modern styles with many internationally acclaimed. They are Yang Xun from Sichuan, Wang Jiaxun from Jiangsu, Tang Qing from Anhui , Zhao Qingguo from Henan, Dong Xiyuan from Fujian, Guan Yuliang from Shenzhen, Kuku Chai Bukuk, Zou Li, Feng Xuewen, Cui Zhi’an from Liaohe.
“We are honoured to have invited these acclaimed artists to come to Thailand and to leave a legacy of paintings,” said Zhou Li.
Pana said the artists have started work on paintings of Thailand through their own eyes, and some of the works will mark another definition in Asian arts.
