The Secretariat of the Cabinet will decide whether to revoke royal decorations conferred on former premier Thaksin Shinawatra, after his title of police lieutenant-colonel was stripped on Saturday, national police chief Pol General Somyot Poompanmuang sai
Normally, the Royal Thai Police would submit for royal endorsement a proposal to strip the police rank together with another one for revocation of royal decorations. However, as Thaksin’s case was decided by Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha with special powers under Article 44, the police’s responsibility in the case as over, he said.
