Free SkyTrain ride on Bangkok Car Free Day

Bangkok commuters can ride SkyTrain of the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited ( BTSC ) free of charge on the Bangkok Car Free Day 2015 on September 20 if they carry a bicycle along.

BTSC CEO Surapong Laoha-Unya said the BTSC will allow cyclists to carry their bicycles onto the SkyTrain free of charge on both the Silom and Sukhumvit Lines on Sunday from 6 am to midnight.
All cyclists can obtain a free ride coupon at Ticket Office of BTS stations, he said.
The free ride is part of the SkyTrain’s support for the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s holding of the Car Free Day activities.
This year’s ‘Bangkok Car Free Day 2015’ is being organized by BMA in cooperation with the Thai Cycling for Health Association, starting on Sunday September 20th 2015, at Sanam Luang. The event is aimed at encouraging people to make more use of public transport and bicycles, instead of private cars, helping to reduce air pollution and raise awareness of global warming.
