Auction under watch
The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission has appointed a good governance committee to monitor its upcoming auctions of fourth-generation telecom licences to ensure they are run transparently.
The committee is chaired by Supant Mongkolsuthree, chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, and is made up of representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Telecommunications Association of Thailand, the Thai Journalists Association, the Thai Bankers’ Association, and the Anti-Corruption Organisation of Thailand. NBTC deputy secretary-general acts as the committee’s secretary.
