Yangon - Myanmar's National League for Democracy (NLD) secures enough seats to nominate two presidential candidates, according to Union Election Commission (UEC) results.

The UEC announces that 18 more seats in the upper house go to the NLD, bringing the total to 95 out of 116 seats.
This surpasses the 84-seat threshold needed to nominate a presidential candidate from the upper house.
The latest UEC results also mean they are now 38 seats short ofensuring that their nominee becomes president.
