Amlo starts freezing assets of lesemajeste suspects

The Anti-Money Laundering Office (Amlo) has frozen more than Bt44 million worth of assets belonging to several suspects linked to the ongoing lese-majeste case.

The case involves fortuneteller Suriyan “Mor Yong” Sujaritpolwong and Major Prakrom Warunprapa, both of whom died while in custody, as well as Jirawong Wattanathewasilp, Suriyan’s secretary, Kachachart Boondee, who was stripped of his colonel rank earlier this week, and various other people in their close circle.
“We have grounds to believe these suspects violated the antigraft laws and antimoney laundering laws,” Pol Col Seehanat Prayoonrat, Amlo’s secretary general, said Thursday.
