Draft law on govt procurements completed

Sansern Kaewkamnerd, the spokesperson of the Prime Minister's Office, revealed today that the office has completed the draft law governing procurements by government agencies, state enterprises and public organisations.

The law is the first to contain criminal clauses against wrongdoers, he said.
Government procurement contracts have so far been struck in line with the PM's Office regulations. Sansern said that the draft law is aimed to increasing transparency.
The PM's Office is now waiting for comments from ministries and relevant agencies, before submitting the draft for the Cabinet's consideration.
