Bomb squad defuses grenade near checkpoint

A bomb-disposal squad used a high-pressure water gun to destroy a grenade found during a blackout in Pattani's Muang district on Tuesday night.
The grenade was spotted in the middle of Yarang Road in Tambon Jabang Tikor. Village defence volunteers sealed the road section for the police bomb-defusing operation. Police suspect the grenade might have been intended for an attack against a checkpoint somewhere in the city area, but was accidentally dropped.
