“I want everything to be presented in a new format, so people can understand the country’s problems, what reforms are necessary and what we have done so far,” Prayut said during his weekly news briefing.
Under this “new format”, representatives from related agencies will address their struggles concerning previous policies implemented and then compare those to this government’s policies, Government Spokesman Maj-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd explained.
“We will not do the presentations as usual, and will instead focus on the response to these problems,” he said.
Held from December 23 to 25, the event will be attended by all ministries as well as the Constitution Drafting Commission, the National Legislative Assembly, the National Reform Steering Assembly and members of the private sector such as the Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Thai Industries, he said
The media will also be invited to join lunch with representatives hosting the morning session, he said.
Prayut will preside over the opening and closing ceremonies of the event, and will deliver a short speech at both, he added. The closing speech on December 25 will be broadcast.
Separately, Prayut said he expects to hold more field trips upcountry and Bangkok suburbs for the Cabinet from January. These trips are aimed for the Cabinet to check and see if the local administration is following the government’s reform timeframe.
Prayut also wants to track the developments made to local economies through such things as innovation as well as research and development, he said.
Provinces that will be visited will be notified shortly before the Cabinet’s arrival, Sansern said, adding that the dates and places have not yet been set.
