As the 146th round was completed shortly after midnight, the combined price of the two licences hit Bt120.4 billion.
Two bids were submitted for Lot 1 licence, pushing the price to Bt58.9 billion. One bid was submitted for Lot 2 licence, pushing the price to Bt61.5 billion.
The auction continued for the third day. It recessed for three hours before resuming at midnight, for the 145th round.
In her tweets, Supinya Klangnarong, a commissioner of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, attributed the high prices to the limited supply of licences. She noted that competition would not have been fierce if NBTC could unveil a clear roadmap on the auctions of other spectra.
