Thai shares remain under pressure

The Stock Exchange of Thailand remained under selling pressure today.

Though telecom stock sell-offs eased, investors remained cautious following the first US rate hike in nine years. Moreover, this week several markets will be closed for Christmas celebrations. Closing on Thursday and Friday are the markets in Malaysia, the Philippine, Indonesia, the United States and Europe. Closing on Friday are the markets in South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong and India.
"There is no positive factor to support the Thai market for now," Tisco Securities said in note.
The SET Index ended 2.78 points or 0.22 per cent lower to 1,261.66 points.
In the previous two trading days, the index shed 1.94 per cent and 1.59 per cent, respectively, due to sell-offs of telecom stocks following the 4G licence auction.
Today, Dtac share price gained 4.50 per cent to Bt29 today, after losing 27 per cent or Bt10.25 on Monday.
True also gained 1.52 per cent to Bt6.70.
Meanwhile, Jasmine International Group lost another 16.22 per cent to Bt3.10 and Advanced Info Service also lost 2.57 per cent to Bt151.50.
