Thailand to submit human trafficking report

Thailand will submit information on its anti-human trafficking efforts to the United States on January 19, as the Ulatter prepares its new Trafficking in Persons report.

Last year, the US put Thailand in Tier 3, the worst category, of its TIPs report for the second year in a row.
Thai authorities have been trying to improve the country’s ranking. Tier 3 countries are at risk of punitive actions from the US.
Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan, the defence minister, disclosed Friday that relevant Thai authorities would announce the country’s progress in combating human trafficking on Monday.
