DSI says acting supreme patriarch’s Benz illegally imported, registered

Department of Special Investigation chief Pol Col Phaisit Wongmueang announced Thursday alleged that a classic Mercedes Benz car of the acting supreme patriarch has been illegally imported and registered.
Phaisit said the parts for assembling the car were imported under fake documents to avoid excise tax.
He said the car was later registered with the Land Transport Department with fake documents.
Phaisit said the Mercedes Benz 300 B was made for only 100 units in Germany in 1963. The model is a classic model for collection. He said the DSI ha learned that there was a gang that imported the classic car on the disguise that it was locally assembled to avoid huge excise tax.
He said the DSI would summon the acting supreme patriarch for questioning whether he had signed an application form for registering the car or not.
