Malaysia engineer arrested over Facebook comment on premier

Kuala Lumpur - An engineer was arrested in Malaysia after posting a comment online allegedly criticising Prime Minister Najib Razak, officials said.

The 26-year-old "made the comment in response to an article posted by Malaysiakini portal on its Facebook page on March 25," the Malaysia Communications and Multimedia Commission said late Wednesday.
No further information was provided about the article, the post, or the identity of the suspect, who was detained Monday.
Najib has come under fire since July over reports of millions of dollars found his bank accounts. He has denied wrongdoing, and an enquiry by the attorney general concluded the money was donated by a member of the royal family of Saudi Arabia and has been returned.
Authorities have clamped down on public discussion of the scandal, with more than a dozen people charged in the past year for comments on social media, including prominent cartoonist Zunar.
