Economy ‘to improve’ in H2

The economy is expected to improve in the latter half of this year, according to the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s Centre for Economic and Business Forecasting.
Thanawat Polvichai, the centre’s director, said Thursday that the SME Competitiveness Index dropped 1.0 point to 48.4 in the first quarter of this year from the previous quarter on expectations for a decline to 48.1 in the second quarter and a rebound to 48.6 for the second half.
