More under-age sex workers

Mahidol University’s Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital yesterday revealed bone mass test results indicate six more sex workers - rounded up from the Nataree Entertainment massage parlour raid on Tuesday - were under 18.

That means the number of girls aged under 18 placed as human trafficking victims in this case is now 15.
The six minors – two 15-year-olds, one 16-year-old and three 17-year olds – were among 12 sex workers whose age and position in the criminal case (as human trafficking victims or prostitute suspects) were pending further tests. The raid rounded up 121 sex workers including Myanmar, Laos and Cambodian nationals and ethnic minorities.
On Friday, 57 sex workers were placed in detention due to their undocumented migrant status, 20 migrants were fined Bt4,500 each for doing jobs outside their work-permit conditions while 23 Thais were previously fined for prostitution.
