Narcotics Suppression Bureau chief Pol Lt-Colonel Rewat Klinkesorn told the press that Laos national Boualapha Simoukda, 47, and Khajorn-amartAmatiyakul, 54, were nabbed and the heroin, Bt12,861 in cash and three cellphones confiscated.
The arrest came after police got a tip-off that a Laotian driving a certain car had smuggled drugs into the country, which were to be sent off to Australia. Upon spotting the car, police followed it to a post office in tambon Ban Luam. While one team of officers found 3.5kg of heroin inside the parcel the duo posted, another team followed them and upon arrest, found another 3.5kg of heroin inside the car.
