Monks allow DSI officials to search Dhammakaya Temple

The leading monks of the Dhammakaya Temple agreed to allow some Department of Special Investigation officials to enter the temple and search it.

The agreement was reached after DSI deputy chief Suriya Singhakamol held a negotiation with Phra Sanitwong and other monks for about 15 minutes.
The two sides held a joint press conference to announce the agreement.
Phra Sanitwong said the DSI officials would be allowed to enter the temple once the monks informed lay followers of the abbot, Phra Dhammachayao.
Phra Sanitwong insisted that Phra Dhammachayo was still being treated inside the temple for his chronic ailment.
After the press conference, which was held at 9:27 am, the monks tried to tall to the staunch lay followers of the abbot to agree with the decision and allow the DSI officials to enter the temple to meet the abbot.
