2017 GDP growth lowered to 3.2%

The Bank of Thailand has slightly revised down the 2017 economic growth forecast from 3.3 per cent to 3.2 per cent, due mainly to sagging exports.

The Monetary Policy Committee estimated that exports would show flat growth next year. In the previous forecast, exports were expected to show a 0.1 per cent growth rate.
Thailand's exports have been contracting since 2013. Export value is expected to contract 2.5 per cent on year in 2016, against previous forecast of minus 2 per cent.
