Seven students arrested for defying rally ban

Seven university students were arrested Friday morning after they briefly held a rally in Bangkok to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the change of the ruling system from absolute monarchy to constitutional monarchy.

The students of the Liberal Agriculture Group gathered at Wat Phra Sri Mahathat and walked to the Democracy Protection Roundabout.
They tried to break through the line of one company of police officers into the roundabout so police arrested them and took them inside a van to the Bang Khen police station.
They were identified as Aranyika Jungwa, 21, Kasemchart Chatratsai, 21, Suthida Watanasing, 21, Karn Sathisilkul, 19, Uthai Chuaytua, 21, Kunapat Kachana, 21, and Chanoknan Ruamsup, 23. Most of them are Kasetsart University students, except Kunapat and Chanoknan, who are Ramkhamhaeng University students.
