18 police ‘at fault’ over handling of ‘Ying Kai’s vindictive complaints

SOME 18 police were found to be at fault in handling allegedly vindictive and false complaints against former maids from Monta “Ying Kai” Yokratanakan, acting Metropolitan Police chief Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathaworn said Friday.

A committee led by Sanit’s deputy Pol Maj General Thanapol Sonthes is now probing these six police investigators, five supervisors, four superintendents, and three deputy commanders breached regulations as per the Royal Thai Police’s 149th and 960th orders.
If the committee finds information suggesting abuse of authority or other offences, they would propose disciplinary and criminal punishments accordingly, he said.
