Record 84.8-million-euro Eurojackpot goes to Germany

SATURDAY, JULY 30, 2016

Frankfurt - The lucky winner of this week's Eurojackpot, who is set to take home a record 84.8 million euros (99.2 million dollars), bought their ticket in the western German state of Hesse, lottery officials said Saturday.

However, the winner or winners have yet to come forward.

The winning numbers, drawn in Helsinki on Friday night, were 4, 8,22, 36, 44, along with two extra number 5 and 10.

The latest win is the highest in Germany so far. The record across all 17 participating countries was 90 million euros and went to a player in the Czech republic in 2015.

Alas, it is impossible to top that record as the Eurojackpot is capped at 90 million.
