Pusadee becomes acting BMA governor

Pusadee Tamthai, deputy Governor of Bangkok, will act as caretaker Bangkok Governor during MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra suspension from duty, a source from Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) said Thursday.

Bangkok Governor MR Sukhumbhand Paribatra has been suspended from duty to facilitate an ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities, in an order issued by Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.
General Prayut, in his capacity as head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), invoking his power under Article 44 of the post-coup interim constitution, ordered the elected governor to be suspended with immediate effect.
