The auction, which continues until Friday, presented 35 motor boats for sale on the first day, all of which fetched good prices. Other assets due to go under the hammer include 116 air-conditioned buses and double-decker coaches.
Arrest warrants were issued for two Tranlee executives, Weerachai Kampaipraphan and Krichakorn Rungmongkolnam, for allegedly being foreigners who assumed Thai nationality to register a tourist business in the island province. Krichakorn was arrested in June, but Weerachai remains at large. Tranlee was established in Phuket in 2001 and has 17 affiliated companies – 15 in Phuket and two in Phang Nga.
