Seven downstream provinces warned of higher level of Chao Phraya

An irrigation office Thursday warned seven downstream provinces to get prepared to cope with higher level of Chao Phraya as the Chao Phraya Dam in Chainat has to release higher volume of water.

Darongkorn Somton, the director of  the 12th Irrigation Office issued the warning to the governors of Uthai Thani, Chainat, Singburi, Angthong, Suphan Buri, Ayutthaya and Lop Buri.
The warning said the dam had to release the water at the rate of 1,101 cubic metres per second, an increase of 201 cbms from Wednesday. The warning letter said the rate is expected to rise to 1,300 cbms to cope with the rising level of the water that flew into the dam.
