28 crew from five Vietnamese trawlers arrested for illegal fishing

Two ships from the Second Naval Area Command rounded up 28 crew members from five Vietnamese fishing boats that were illegally harvesting sea cucumbers in the Gulf of Thailand early Tuesday morning  and brought them back to their base in Songkhla.

HTMS Khamronsin was returning to base from a patrol mission with the Royal Malaysian Navy when it came across three Vietnamese trawlers with 15 crew near Koh Losin in Pattani at 11pm on Monday.
At 1.30am, the Tor 97 patrol boat brought two Vietnamese trawlers with 13 crew to the base after they were caught near Koh Kra in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
All the crew members were charged with violating Thai fishing laws and handed over to Muang Songkhla Police.
