Gomez, 31, joined Wolfsburg in summer on a three-year contract from Turkish champions Besiktas. He has scored four goals but like the rest of team failed to meet high expectations as Wolfsburg rank 13th in the league.
"Of course I can imagine staying. If that wasn't the case I wouldn’t have signed for three years. But I did well in Istanbul to make an assessment after one year. I want to live in the here and now," Gomez told the Welt am Sonntag paper.
