Father, son rescued after tugboat sinks on Chao Phraya

A 68-year-old skipper and his son were rescued after their tugboat sunk near the Wat Rakang pier on Chao Phraya river in Bangkok’s Bangkok Noi at noon Friday.

The skipper, Thawee Pundee, told police that his boat were hit by strong waves caused by two boats speeding past his boat on bot sides. The waves caused water to enter his boat so it sank quickly.
Thawee and his son were plugged out of the water by staff of a ferry boat at the pier.
