Pai's mother bangs head in court in protest

Mother of young anti-junta activist Jatupat ‘Pai’ Boonpatraraksa broke down in tears calling for an open and inclusive hearing when Khon Kaen Provincial Court Wednesday ordered a closed trial in considering the activist’s sixth pre-trial detention.

The mother, Prim Boonpatraraksa, also reportedly walked up to the wall of the courtroom, knocked her head against it, and whined the injustice. The companies in the courtroom had to bring her out and gave her first aid.
Regardless, the court carried out the closed trial and ordered that Pai, who had been charged with lese majeste for sharing an inappropriate post about monarchy, be detained for another 10 days.
His lawyer had sought bail for 400,000 but as of 3 pm Wednesday, the result was still unknown.
