Khon Kaen court rejects Pai's bail request again

Khon Kaen Provincial Court Wednesday turned down pro-democracy activist Jatupat ‘Pai Dao Din’ Boonpatraraksa’s bail request for the sixth time, citing the fact that the activist could tamper with the evidence.
The court insisted in its order that the activist remained in prison for another 12 days for pre-trial detention.
Getting his bail revoked late December last year, Pai has been detained for more than 40 days already when he remains innocent and has not been proved guilty.
Family members and fellow anti-junta activists of 80 Wednesday gathered at Khon Kaen Court to hear the trial called by police officer to detain Pai for another round of 12 days. The court ordered a closed trial in considering the request.
