Police are investigating the cause of a fire that broke out on Thursday night at an under-construction hotel within the Central Embassy mall building in downtown Bangkok.

The fire, which broke out at 11pm on the 26th floor of the 36-storey building, is believed to have spread from a room storing papers and plywood to nearby insulation sheets. Firefighters brought the fire under control in 20 minutes.
The affected area, above the luxury shopping mall, was unoccupied at the time.
