Govt’s super panel ‘nearly complete’

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said Tuesday that a “number of specific candidates” had been appointed as members of the government’s super committee “Por Yor Por” and the set up was nearly complete.

Established by Prayut under the absolute power of the interim charter’s Article 44, the PM-led committee will consist of several ministers, experts and representatives from the government’s 12 Pracharat committees.
Pracharat or People’s State is a government-initiated tripartite economic model with participants from the state, the private sector and the community for bottom-up growth.
The Por Yor Por committee is expected to bring all sectors together in an effort to make administration, reform, long-term national strategy and reconciliation possible.
The premier had said earlier that he expected some 40 outsiders to sit in the committee, as its four subcommittees are dominated by military officers and civil servants.
