Seven Dhammakaya monks stage hunger strike

Seven monks from Dhammakaya Temple Wednesday have staged a hunger strike in protest the government pressure on their temple.
Phra Isaraphap Arjarasampanno, a monk from Dhammakaya network, who came from Mae Hong Son, said he and other monks decided to stage the protest to fight for justice.
They began the protest at 4.30pm by sitting on the floor at Klong Luang Market near the temple.
The temple called for the junta to revoke Article 44 issued by junta chief Prayut Chan-o-cha to declare the temple as an “area under control” to facilitate authorities to search for the fugitive ex-abbot Phra Dhammachayo.
