Gothom: Institute not pick on Dhammakaya siege case

Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies former director and now adviser Gothom Arya said Sunday that the IHRP did not raise any Article 44-related case in particular when it issued a statement on Saturday.

“We cited those nine orders only to provide picture of how often the NCPO enacted this absolute power during past couple of months,” Gothom, who had records of criticizing against the junta, said.

As a mere adviser, Gothom said he had no knowledge of what actions the IHRP would perform next but further counter-statement is unlikely to be issued.

The IHRP on Saturday urged the National Council for Peace and Order to stop using the Article 44 of the interim charter.
